The peanuts come from Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl in Zanesville, Ohio—a place woven into some of my favorite memories. Growing up in Dresden, trips to Tom’s for ice cream, chocolates and their famous fresh-roasted nuts were a family tradition. It was even the setting for one of my first dates with my husband, Dave.

As I built Ohio Girl Bakes, I wanted to celebrate the Ohio traditions and local businesses that helped shape me. These clusters feature the same fresh-roasted Spanish peanuts I loved as a kid, bringing together a little nostalgia, a little Ohio history and a whole lot of chocolatey goodness.
