The snack mix that started it all…

Long before there was an Ohio Girl Bakes, there was always a container of homemade snack mix in our pantry.

When my husband, Dave, and I first started dating, he asked if I could make the classic snack mix his mom had made growing up for his Friday night poker game. I had never made it before, but with her recipe as a starting point, I created my own version.

Over the years, it became a staple in our home. Something I made for family gatherings, parties with friends and, of course, Dave’s poker nights. For years, Dave encouraged me to bag it up and sell it.

When we moved back home to Ohio and I was ready to start something of my own, I finally did. Salty Snack Mix became the product that started Ohio Girl Bakes and the rest is history.

Made with Cheerios, Corn Chex, pretzel twists, salted peanuts and crunchy rye chips, then baked with real butter, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt and onion powder. It’s buttery, savory and packed with crunch.
